Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Title:Family Nurse Practitioner with Behavioral Health (OutPatient) 

Salary: $110k-$148k depending on experience 

Location: Peachtree corners 

Employment Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday 

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a strong background in behavioral health and addiction/substance abuse to join our team. The FNP will provide comprehensive primary and mental health care to patients, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of both physical and behavioral health conditions. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving patient outcomes and have a collaborative approach to patient care. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical and mental health, including detailed histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. 
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with a focus on both physical and mental health care. Coordinate care plans with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Behavioral Health Management: Provide evidence-based treatment for a variety of behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. Implement therapeutic interventions such as counseling and psychotherapy. 
  • Substance Abuse Treatment: Assess and treat patients with substance abuse disorders, including the development of treatment plans that may involve medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, and support for recovery. 
  • Medication Management: Prescribe and monitor medications for both physical and mental health conditions. Ensure patients understand their medications, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence. 
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about physical and mental health conditions, treatment options, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare providers, including physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients. 
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services as needed, including risk assessments and emergency consultations. Develop safety plans and provide referrals to appropriate resources. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other relevant documentation. 
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in family practice, behavioral health, and substance abuse treatment through continuing education, professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences and workshops. 

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program 
  • Current and valid licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in [State] 
  • Certification as a FNP by a recognized national certification board 
  • Strong background and experience in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment 
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills 

Work Schedule: 

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
